Come, follow me…
If you want, come and follow me

If you want… go, sell everything and follow me…
These are words that resonate in my mind and in my heart… they frighten me… they are exacting and I love life, I love going out, feasts and nice clothes…
Why me?… Why is it happening to me?…
When the Lord calls you, you are surprised, maybe even disappointed…
If the Lord calls you, you may feel like asking him: But why? But why me?
You may desire to run away, to say no, no, not me…
Don’t surrender to fear…
Take your time to examine this call… this feeling…
And don’t ever forget that the Lord addresses you in these words: “If you want…”
The Lord is proposing and not imposing…
Don’t forget that you are free…
But before saying yes or no
Take your time to examine this feeling
Is it persistent? Or is it just passing?
Pray: Is it really you Lord or is it somebody else? Or is it just the fruit of my imagination?
Many people before you have been through this:
Peter, Andrew, Mathew, and the others, have experienced the same… their answer was positive, while the rich man left sad because he wasn’t free of heart. He had sensed that this invitation was important, a personal call, but his heart was taken, he couldn’t give up his possessions…
