During his recent visit to Lebanon, His Excellency Bishop Paul-Marwan Tabet, Shepherd of the Maronite Eparchy of Saint Maron in Canada, and Mother Marie-Antoinette Saadeh, Superior General of the Congregation of the Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family, signed a cooperation agreement at the Patriarchal See in Bkerké, under the blessing of His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Béchara Boutros Raï, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch.
This agreement provides for the presence of Sisters from the Congregation in Halifax, Nova Scotia – Canada, marking the beginning of a new phase of fruitful collaboration between the two ecclesial institutions. It aims to advance their shared mission in various domains, notably pastoral life, educational outreach, practical administrative support, as well as training and specialized formation.
Key elements of the agreement include:
-
Pastoral life and educational mission: Establishing a pastoral and educational environment that supports individuals in all aspects of life, promoting personal, academic, and spiritual development.
-
Practical administrative support: Sharing expertise and resources to ensure the sustainability of joint efforts, enhance performance efficiency, and improve the quality of services offered.
-
Formation and training: Organizing specialized training programs for staff to raise performance standards and enhance academic and professional skills in response to modern-day challenges.
This cooperation is expected to offer genuine opportunities to reconnect youth and young adults with Maronite and Lebanese traditions, and to strengthen the ties between the diaspora and their ancestral homeland.
